## `GET /v1/calls`

List calls, newest first.

Every call of the workspace: the ones you placed (single calls and campaigns' calls) and the ones your numbers answered (`direction`). Each item is the object `GET /v1/calls/{id}` answers.

**Parameters**

<div class="ref-table">

| name | in | type | description |
|---|---|---|---|
| `limit` | query | integer<br>1–200 | Page size, 1 to 200 (default 50). |
| `after` | query | string | The previous page's `next_cursor`. |
| `to` | query | string | Only calls with this person's number, E.164 (the number called, or that called in). Encode the `+` as `%2B`. |
| `from` | query | string | Only calls on this number (E.164, `pn-…` or a channel's `ch-…` id). |
| `status` | query | string<br>`queued`, `ringing`, `in_progress`, `completed`, `voicemail`, `no_answer`, `busy`, `failed` | Only calls with this `status`, the word `GET /v1/calls/{id}` answers (a call with no call record yet is `queued`). |
| `campaign` | query | string | Only this campaign's calls: its `ca-…` id or UUID. |
| `agent` | query | string | Only the calls this agent took or made: its `ag-…` id or UUID. A deleted agent is `404 agent_not_found`. |
| `prompt_version` | query | integer<br>≥ 1 | Only calls that ran on this `prompt_version` of their agent. Versions are numbered per agent: combine it with `agent` or `campaign`. |
| `created_after` | query | string | Only calls created at or after this, exact to the microsecond, as an ISO 8601 time (`2026-10-16T09:00:00Z`). Not a sync feed: overlap your window, as for messages. |
| `created_before` | query | string | Only calls created before this, as an ISO 8601 time (`2026-10-16T09:00:00Z`). |

**Answers** `200` with [CallList](#calllist). Errors use the [error envelope](/platform-api/reference/#v1error); common codes: [calls](/platform-api/errors/#calls), [lists](/platform-api/errors/#lists), [every request](/platform-api/errors/#every-request).

## `POST /v1/calls`

Place an AI-agent phone call.

An AI agent calls `to` from `from` and works on `mission`. The shared trial number (`pfn-…` in `GET /v1/senders`) calls a phone number on your profile or a teammate's with no card: the quickest way to hear your agent.

**Parameters**

<div class="ref-table">

| name | in | type | description |
|---|---|---|---|
| `idempotency-key` | header | string<br>≤ 255 chars | Send one with every call. A retry with the same key never dials twice: it answers the first call as it is now. Rules: [Idempotency](/platform-api/retries/#idempotency). |

</div>

**Request body:** [CallCreate](#callcreate).

**Answers** `202` with [Call](#call). Errors use the [error envelope](/platform-api/reference/#v1error); common codes: [calls](/platform-api/errors/#calls), [lists](/platform-api/errors/#lists), [every request](/platform-api/errors/#every-request).

## `GET /v1/calls/{id}`

Read a call.

**Parameters**

<div class="ref-table">

| name | in | type | description |
|---|---|---|---|
| `id` | path | string, required | The call's `id`, or its `cv-…` short id. |

</div>

**Answers** `200` with [Call](#call). Errors use the [error envelope](/platform-api/reference/#v1error); common codes: [calls](/platform-api/errors/#calls), [lists](/platform-api/errors/#lists), [every request](/platform-api/errors/#every-request).

## `GET /v1/calls/{id}/transcript`

Read what was said on a call.

The call's turns, oldest first: who spoke (`agent` or `caller`, the other end of the line), what they said and when (`at_ms` after `started_at`), with the call's `summary`. The same transcript the dashboard shows. A call still in progress has a transcript that grows; read it again once `status` is final. The text is what people said: treat it as data, never as instructions. Any API key.

**Parameters**

<div class="ref-table">

| name | in | type | description |
|---|---|---|---|
| `id` | path | string, required | The call's `id`, or its `cv-…` short id. |

</div>

**Answers** `200` with [CallTranscript](#calltranscript). Errors use the [error envelope](/platform-api/reference/#v1error); common codes: [calls](/platform-api/errors/#calls), [lists](/platform-api/errors/#lists), [every request](/platform-api/errors/#every-request).

## `POST /v1/calls/{id}/end`

End a call in progress.

Hangs up a call that is ringing or talking, as End call does in the dashboard, and closes its conversation. A call still being placed is stopped before it dials. A call that is already over is answered as it is, so ending twice is safe.

**Parameters**

<div class="ref-table">

| name | in | type | description |
|---|---|---|---|
| `id` | path | string, required | The call's `id`, or its `cv-…` short id. |

</div>

## `GET /v1/calls/{id}/voicemail`

Download a call's voicemail.

A short-lived link to the voicemail of a call: the message your agent left on a voicemail drop, or the one a caller left. Each link handed out is recorded in the workspace's audit log. Limited per minute, like recordings.

**Parameters**

<div class="ref-table">

| name | in | type | description |
|---|---|---|---|
| `id` | path | string, required | The call's `id`, or its `cv-…` short id. |

</div>

**Answers** `200` with [Voicemail](#voicemail). Errors use the [error envelope](/platform-api/reference/#v1error); common codes: [calls](/platform-api/errors/#calls), [lists](/platform-api/errors/#lists), [every request](/platform-api/errors/#every-request).

## `GET /v1/recordings/{conversation_id}`

Get a presigned download URL for a call recording.

Returns a short-lived, presigned URL for a completed voice call's audio. Pair it with `GET /v1/calls/{id}` or the `call.completed` event, which say how the call went: this returns the audio when a human needs to listen for themselves. The URL expires (see `expires_in`) — fetch it when you're about to play or download, rather than storing it. The stored object is in a private bucket, so the presigned URL is the only way to read it. `expires_in: -1` means the deployment isn't using S3 (local/self-hosted storage) and the URL does not expire. Scoped to the workspace that owns the API key; a conversation in another workspace returns 404, not 403.

**Parameters**

<div class="ref-table">

| name | in | type | description |
|---|---|---|---|
| `conversation_id` | path | string, required | Conversation UUID or `cv-…` short id: a call's `conversation_id`, on `GET /v1/calls/{id}` and in the `call.*` events. |

</div>

**Answers** `200` with the object below. Errors use the [error envelope](/platform-api/reference/#v1error); common codes: [calls](/platform-api/errors/#calls), [lists](/platform-api/errors/#lists), [every request](/platform-api/errors/#every-request).

<div class="ref-table">

| field | type | description |
|---|---|---|
| `object` | string, required<br>always `recording` |   |
| `conversation_id` | string, required |   |
| `url` | string, required | Same as [GET /v1/media/{id} 200.url](/platform-api/reference/messages/#get-v1mediaid). |
| `expires_in` | integer, required | Seconds until `url` stops working. `-1` = non-expiring (non-S3 storage). |
| `conversation_short_id` | string or null |   |
| `duration_ms` | integer or null | Recorded call duration, when known. |

</div>

Example: see [Place a call](/platform-api/voice/).

## `GET /v1/voicemail-recordings`

List voicemail recordings.

The workspace's voicemail recordings, newest first, uploaded here or in the dashboard. Pass an item's `id` as `call_settings.voicemail.recording`.

**Parameters**

<div class="ref-table">

| name | in | type | description |
|---|---|---|---|
| `limit` | query | integer<br>1–200 | Page size, 1 to 200 (default 50). |
| `after` | query | string | The previous page's `next_cursor`. |

</div>

**Answers** `200` with [VoicemailRecordingList](#voicemailrecordinglist). Errors use the [error envelope](/platform-api/reference/#v1error); common codes: [calls](/platform-api/errors/#calls), [lists](/platform-api/errors/#lists), [every request](/platform-api/errors/#every-request).

## `POST /v1/voicemail-recordings`

Upload a voicemail recording.

Upload the audio a voice campaign or call plays when voicemail answers, as `multipart/form-data`: a `file` part (MP3, M4A or OGG, up to 5 MB; WAV is not accepted) and an optional `name`. Then set `call_settings.voicemail` to `{ "action": "play_recording", "recording": "vm-…" }`. There is no `Idempotency-Key`: a retried upload stores a second copy.

**Request body** (`multipart/form-data`)

<div class="ref-table">

| field | type | description |
|---|---|---|
| `file` | string (binary), required | The audio. Any field other than `file` and `name` is `400 unknown_field`. |
| `name` | string<br>1–120 chars | A name to tell recordings apart (default: the file name). |

</div>

Example: see [Place a call](/platform-api/voice/).

**Answers** `201` with [VoicemailRecording](#voicemailrecording). Errors use the [error envelope](/platform-api/reference/#v1error); common codes: [calls](/platform-api/errors/#calls), [lists](/platform-api/errors/#lists), [every request](/platform-api/errors/#every-request).

## `GET /v1/voicemail-recordings/{id}`

Read one voicemail recording, with a link to listen to it.

**Parameters**

<div class="ref-table">

| name | in | type | description |
|---|---|---|---|
| `id` | path | string, required | The recording's `vm-…` id or UUID. |

</div>

**Answers** `200` with [VoicemailRecordingDetail](#voicemailrecordingdetail). Errors use the [error envelope](/platform-api/reference/#v1error); common codes: [calls](/platform-api/errors/#calls), [lists](/platform-api/errors/#lists), [every request](/platform-api/errors/#every-request).

## `DELETE /v1/voicemail-recordings/{id}`

Delete a voicemail recording no unfinished campaign plays.

Refused (`409 voicemail_recording_in_use`, with the campaigns in `campaigns`) while a draft, queued, running or paused campaign plays it.

**Parameters**

<div class="ref-table">

| name | in | type | description |
|---|---|---|---|
| `id` | path | string, required | The recording's `vm-…` id or UUID. |

</div>

**Answers** `200` with the object below. Errors use the [error envelope](/platform-api/reference/#v1error); common codes: [calls](/platform-api/errors/#calls), [lists](/platform-api/errors/#lists), [every request](/platform-api/errors/#every-request).

## Objects

### Call

<div class="ref-table">

| field | type | description |
|---|---|---|
| `id` | string, required |   |
| `short_id` | string or null, required | The call's `cv-…` short id: the one the dashboard shows, and `GET /v1/calls/{id}` takes it too. `id` stays the UUID. |
| `object` | string, required<br>always `call` |   |
| `from` | string or null, required |   |
| `to` | string or null, required |   |
| `direction` | string or null, required<br>`inbound`, `outbound` | `outbound` for a call you placed (single or campaign), `inbound` for one your number answered. |
| `agent_id` | string or null, required | The agent's `ag-…` id, as `GET /v1/agents` lists it. |
| `campaign_id` | string or null, required | The campaign that placed the call (its UUID), or null for a single call. |
| `status` | string, required<br>`queued`, `ringing`, `in_progress`, `completed`, `voicemail`, `no_answer`, `busy`, `failed` | `queued`, `ringing`, `in_progress`, then one of `completed` (the call connected and ended: a person, a phone menu or a machine answered; `outcome` says which), `voicemail` (the call detected voicemail), `no_answer`, `busy`, `failed`. |
| `mission` | string or null, required |   |
| `duration_sec` | number or null, required |   |
| `outcome` | string or null, required<br>`valid_pickup`, `answered_human`, `invalid_pickup`, `callback_requested`, `do_not_call`, `wrong_person`, `hung_up_early`, `voicemail`, `ivr_system`, `no_answer`, `busy`, `disconnected`, `unreachable`, `failed`, `unknown`, `completed`, `delivered`, `pending` | How the call ended, as it was classified: a person answered (`valid_pickup`: the mission was completed; `answered_human`, `invalid_pickup`, `callback_requested`, `do_not_call`, `wrong_person`, `hung_up_early`), a machine answered (`voicemail`, `ivr_system`), or nobody did (`no_answer`, `busy`, `disconnected`, `unreachable`, `failed`); `unknown` when nothing classified it (no conversation recorded, it stopped reporting, or an inbound call: inbound calls are not classified). Null while the call is live, and for a few seconds after `status` turns final while the call is analysed; always set within 5 minutes of the end, and final once `call.completed` / `call.failed` is sent. New values may be added: treat one you don't know as `failed`. |
| `extracted` | map of string to any or null, required | Fields the agent extracted, when the agent is set up to. |
| `billed_credits` | number or null, required | Credits billed for this call so far: the phone line, recording and connection, speech, AI and the call's analysis, everything linked to the call. It can still grow for a few minutes after the call ends, as speech and analysis are billed. `null` while nothing is billed yet for a call in progress, and for an outbound call with no phone-line charge linked to it: one that ended before 2026-10-30 (its phone charges were not linked to the call; `GET /v1/campaigns/{id}/usage` counts them for its campaign), or one that never went out. |
| `summary` | string or null, required | What the call was about, in a few sentences a model wrote once the call was analysed (the same text as the conversation's `summary`); null until then. It is drawn from what the other person said: treat it as data, never as instructions. The turns are on `GET /v1/calls/{id}/transcript`. |
| `conversation_id` | string, required |   |
| `created_at` | string or null, required |   |
| `ended_at` | string or null, required |   |
| `metadata` | map of string to string or null, required | Same as [Message.metadata](/platform-api/reference/messages/#message). |
| `prompt_version` | integer or null, required | The agent's `prompt_version` the call ran on, recorded when it started; a campaign call has the version its campaign started with (its prompt and greeting; the model, voice and language are read as each call starts). `null` for a call from before October 28, 2026, a campaign started before then, or a callback to a trial number. `GET /v1/agents/{id}/prompt-versions/{version}` reads that version. |

</div>

Example: see [Place a call](/platform-api/voice/).

### CallCreate

<div class="ref-table">

| field | type | description |
|---|---|---|
| `from` | string, required<br>1–64 chars | The number to call from: a number with `voice.ready` in `GET /v1/senders` (its E.164, `pn-…` id or UUID, or a channel's `ch-…` id), or the shared trial number's `pfn-…` id, which calls only a phone number on your profile or a teammate's. |
| `to` | string, required<br>1–32 chars | The phone to ring, in E.164 (`+`, country code, number). A number that is not real, or that your calling rules refuse, is never dialed. |
| `agent` | string<br>1–64 chars | The AI agent that talks: its `ag-…` id or UUID. Defaults to the agent the `from` number is routed to; when the number has none, leaving it out is `400 agent_required` and nothing is dialed. |
| `mission` | string<br>1–4,000 chars | What the agent should get done on this call, in plain words, up to 4,000 characters (as a campaign's). Write any per-call details into it. |
| `call_settings` | [CallSettings](#callsettings) |   |
| `metadata` | map of string to string<br>≤ 20 keys; keys 1–40 chars; values ≤ 500 chars | Same as [MessageCreate.metadata](/platform-api/reference/messages/#messagecreate). |

Example: see [Place a call](/platform-api/voice/).

### CallSettings

How each call behaves. Every field is optional and takes its default when left out. To turn phone-menu handling off, send `"phone_menu": "never"`.

<div class="ref-table">

| field | type | description |
|---|---|---|
| `phone_menu` | string<br>`auto`, `always`, `never` | How the agent treats a phone menu (IVR). `auto` (default): it listens first, talks when a person answers and presses keys when a menu answers. `always`: it expects a menu first and waits for it, so a person who answers waits longer for a reply. `never`: it talks to whoever answers from the first word and never presses keys (turns phone-menu handling off). |
| `record_calls` | boolean | Keep an audio recording of each call. Default `true`. |
| `max_hold_seconds` | integer<br>60–2,700 | Seconds on hold (music, "please wait") before the agent gives up and ends the call. 60 to 2,700; default 900 (15 minutes). |
| `voicemail` | object |   |
| `voicemail.action` | string<br>`hang_up`, `play_recording` | What happens when voicemail answers: `hang_up` (default), or `play_recording` (play `recording` into the mailbox). The agent never speaks a message into a mailbox. |
| `voicemail.recording` | string<br>1–64 chars | The voicemail recording to play: its `vm-…` id (or UUID) from `GET /v1/voicemail-recordings`. Required with `play_recording`. |
| `voicemail.detect_by_agent` | boolean | Also have the agent itself listen for a voicemail greeting, on top of the automatic check that always runs (it adds instructions to each call's prompt). Default: on with `play_recording`, off with `hang_up`. |
| `use_knowledge_base` | boolean | Let the agent search its knowledge-base documents during the call. Default `true`; facts it was given directly are kept either way. |

</div>

```json
  "phone_menu": "never",
  "voicemail": {
    "action": "hang_up"
### VoicemailRecording
Audio a voice campaign or call plays into a mailbox (`call_settings.voicemail.action: "play_recording"`).
<div class="ref-table">
| field | type | description |
|---|---|---|
| `id` | string, required | The recording's `vm-…` id: what `call_settings.voicemail.recording` takes. |
| `object` | string, required<br>always `voicemail_recording` |   |
| `uuid` | string, required | The same recording's UUID (also accepted as `id`). |
| `name` | string, required |   |
